Kiowa artist Silver Horn (Haungooah) created this book of 75 drawings. The drawings of warriors, romance, religious ceremonies, and more offer us a personal perspective on Kiowa culture and its intersections with others in the 1800s. Dudley P. Brown wrote the descriptive captions on a document dated August 1, 1883. Brown was a merchant who leased land on the Kiowa-Comanche reservation. His captions reflect his interpretation of Kiowa culture.
